Look After You _frerard-

"You're always busy" mumbled Gerard staring at the floor "How long are you here for this time?" he asked, gazing atnhis brother and believing every word he said.

"Just an hour" Mikey said softly, hoping his brother wouldn't start crying and upset the quite frankly nasty neighbour below.

Gerards lip trembled and his eyes watered slightly as he clung to his brother "COuldn;t you stay over for once" he asked hopefully.

"No" Mikey said rather harshly
"Go play with your legos Gerard, I need to talk to Mikey" Frank suddenly said from doorway.

Gerard looked about to cry but went back into the front room to play.

"What is your problem with being an actual brother to Gerard for once?" Frank said as soon as he heard Gerard throw himself on the floor. Mikey turned to face him quickly.
"In case you haven't noticed Frank, Gerard is a five year old, I've known him for longer then you, it hurts to see him like this, he used to be a fucking genius before!" Mikey said loudly, putting his hands on his hips much like his mother when she was angry.

GErard crawled closer to hear the conversation, sitting quietly by the door.

"Of course I've bloody noticed, I'm the one who lives with him and takes care of him all the time while you lie to him that your busy!" Frank yelled, not really caring if Gerard could hear him, hopefully he was playing soldiers again and was mimicking the bomb explosions too loudly again.
"Because your paid to! You'd leave if you were offered a bigger pay check" Mikey hollered back.

Gerard whimpered to himself. Was that true He'd thougth Mikey wa just busy, He thought Frank was his friend. He quietly cross the room and opened the door silntly. He opened it and sneeked down to the very bototm floor where he sat on the front step,knees tucked up to his chest and humming.

"How dare you, I love Gerard. Get out Mikey, just leave" Frank said, pointing at the door. Mikey stormed past and was surprised to see his brother in a tight ball at the bottom of the steps when he reached them. He didn't care though if Gerard had heard and was upset by it. He gave Gerard a stiff goodbye and stepped past him to get to his car.

"Mikey" whimpered Gerard, bursting into tears when he was ignored. He buried his face in his knees, sobbing pathetically. He wanted his brothe to coem aback, say he hadn;t ment any of it, that he'd stay for as long as Gerard wanted... But of course, it didnlt happen.

Frank searched the house before coming outside and finding Gerard crying on the steps. He sat down with him and put an arm around him.
"I'm sorry you had to hear that Gerard" he said softly.

"I thought you were my friend" sobbed Gerard, hugging his knees ""Mikey doesn;t like nme does he?"

"Gerard, you heard half a conversation. I am your friend, I love you to pieces and Mikey does like you Gerard, he's your brother, he has to" Frank said, giving Gerard a quick kiss on the head.

Gerard sniffed "WHy don;t I have any friends Frank?" he asked. It was a question they'd managed to avouid up til this point, given that people with the ame mental age as Gerard were ACTUALLY five and people the same physical age would have found him a freak or a drag.

Frank was stuck for an answer. Normal people (he hated using that term), usually got annoyed by Gerard and brushed him off at the nearest chance. It also wasn't safe for Gerard to go outside because he had no concept of cars and road safety and what is okay to do in public.
"Because...Because people don't understand how special you are" he said at last.

Gerard stared at the loor, playing with the dirt "I'd like friends" he said quietly. It was a thought that had spent alot of time in hishead since some show had been on when Frak had let him watch TV.

"Doesn't everybody" Frank said, standing up and offering a hand to Gerard to help him up but was stopped when a man in a suit got out of a shiny black BMW and started towards them.
Who the fuck was that?

Gerad looked up and stared at the man, suddenly clinging to Frank. He hated seeing new people, it scared him most of the time.

"Um, hello?" Frank called as the man got closer, putting a reassuring hand on Gerard's shoulder.

"I'm Matt from the New Jersey Council, we got some complaints from your neighbour about a Mr. Gerard Way whom you are the carer for" Matt said.

Frank sighed and invited Matt in.
I don't need to guess whose been complaining

Gerard continued to cling to Frank arm as they went back intothe apartment. Once inside, he retreated to his room and started to ply again.

As soon as they got inside, Matt got straight down to business.
"This, I'm afraid, is a complaint too many, we might have to send Gerard to a mental health ward".

"No, its not Gerard's fault, he can't help it" Frank pleaded but Matt apparently, was having none of it.

Frank came into Gerard's room half an hour later after sending Matt away and just watched him play, trying to avoid bursting into tears and pounding the floor much like Gerard did half the time.

Gerard was smiling to himself nd building a house made of lego. Eventually he turned around an looked at Frank "Frankie? What's wong?" he asked quietly.

Frank knelt down by Gerard and pulled him into a hug, the sobs finally bursting out of his throat.
"They're taking you away from me" he cried.

Gerard allowed himself to be pulled into the hug, staring at Frank "Wh-What? They xan't! I'm not leaving Frnkie!"
