Look After You _frerard-

Frank stood in the doorway to the living room and watched Gerard play. He was still biting his lip and he was pretty certain that he was bleeding because of it.
"Gerard, Mikey can't come over" he said sadly.

Gerard stopped huing immediatly, ropping his toy on the floor "Wh-What?" he stammered, staring at Frank with that cild-like face, as if he was begging him to change his answer.

"I'm sorry Gerard, he's busy" Frank said, lying through his teeth at the reason. He didn't know; Mikey had never told him.
Asshole

GErards eyes watered and, before Frank could stop him, he was crying and screaming again, yelling for his brother at the top of his lungs. It had ben forever since he'd seen the other man and, een though eth whole time Mikey ahd been rolling his eyes and stiff when he talked, he only had amazingly happy memories of that day.

Frank held Gerard still and shushed him "He'll come over some time Gee I promise" he said and he pulled Gerard up and took him to his room. God, he'd just got him to put his jeans on and now he was making him go to sleep where he wouldn't need jeans but fuck, he needed to calm Gerard now.

EVentually Gerard fell into sleep, still whimpering occasionaly.

All he could see was water, everywhere.
He barely remembered how he'd gotten there. he'd been drunk, with some friends, messing around on the pier and now... He gagged and choked for breathm trgglinga aginst waves desperatly, yet each one pulled him furter under. He couldfeel the water entering his lungs, the salt burning his throat. he tried to scream but merely got yet another mouthful of seawater. Everything was going dark, he couldn't keep fighting...

He woke up screaming.

Frank raced into Gerard's room and raced to search through his medicine bag to find the drug that would sedate him. Another nightmare of that horrible day Gerard fell from the pier. He pinned Gerard down and injected him, cooing him all the while as he continued to scream.
"Shush Gerard, please don't, its okay, you aren't there now, you're safe, you're with me".

Gerards breathing slowed and he buried his face in Franks chest, whimpering "I keephaving that ream Mi-Frankie,I don;t understand it" he sobbe,d having no concious memory of that day.

"I'll explain when you wake up" Frank lied as he rocked Gerard asleep "I love you Gerard, shush, okay" he whispered.

Gerard eventually fell back into his sleep. When he awoke the next time it was aboyt six. He came out of his rooms rubbing his eyes, guessing Frank had put him in is pyjamas in is sleep "Frankie?"

"Good morning sleepy head" Frank smiled "Guess whose here?" he gestured to the man sitting next to him.

Gerard rubbed hi eyes, then recognised his britehr and grinned, his whole face lighting up "Mikey!" he squeeked, racing over and hugging his broter.

Mikey awkwardly patted his brother's back and grimaced over his shoulder at Frank who gave him a significant look.
"Hey Gee, how are you?" he said in fake brightness.

"Good" grinned Gerard, leaning back and staring at him in completly innocent adoration. His brother, who despite the age gap he consiered his big brother, was his idol, espeially since he ad no ide how Mikey behaved behind his back.

"Tell him about your big art project Gee" Frank smiled encouragedly, hearing Mikey trying to stifle a sigh. He sent a kick under the table at him, telling him to at least pretend to be happy to see his older brother.

EVen Gerard picked up the stifled sigh, looking confused for a moment before the grin returned to his face, he was just happy to see his brother aain after so long "I'm doing soe puintings, Frank got me some can-va-ses" beamed Gerard, concentrating hard and spacing out the word in his head to pronounce it "Do you want to see?" he asked eagerly.

Frank beamed at Gerard for remembering how to pronounce canvases.

"Yeah sure" Mikey said distractedly, throwing Gerard a quick fake smile.

Gerard grinned, completely believing the smile. He grabbed Mikeys hand and stood up "Come on! They're through here"

Mikey let his older brother led him through the living room into a small back room which was covered in paint tubs and random sometimes painted canvases thrown around the floor. On the wall where there many paint flicks and smudges and tacked up pictures already completed.
"Oh wow Gerard, this looks awesome" Mikey said, trying to mask his bored tone. Before the accident, Gerard used to be an artist and he could draw the greatest sketches in a few minutes but, of course, now his pictures were like that of a drunk 4 year old.

Gerard grinned, when Frank ad said it he'd been almost unwilling to believe it, but the words coming for Mikeys mouth meant the wolrd to himand he was suddenly so much prouder of his 'art'.
"Look at this one!" he grinned, dragging out a canvas tha Frank hadn;t been able to say anything about. It was much different to the childlike srbbles on the other, much more like his work before the accident. On it was depicted the ocean from his dreams, tumbling nd dark, with occasional pair of demonic eyes staring out, a portrait of his nightmares.

Mikey held the picture aloft and realized what it was a picture of. He almost dropped it in shock. Though he didn't really...like his brother after the accident it still hurt to remember that day when they got drunk and he fell.
"This is-this is, has Frank seen this?" Mikey asked, still staring at the green demons eyes.

Gerard nodded uncertainly "I think so, he didnlt say anything though" he mumbled. He looked down, feeling likehe'd down someting wrong "Mikey... Can I have a hug?" he asked hopefully.

"Um sure" Mikey said, slightly surprised at Gerard's request; he held out his arms.

GErard hugged him, butying his face in Mikeys chest "I missed you" he mumbled, hisnvoice still pathetically childish "Why don;t you visit me more?"

"I missed you too" Mikey said "I've been busy Gerard, I'm sorry, works been a little hectic" Mikey lied through his teeth.
